🔧 Vick's Expertune Automotive

I brought my 2019 Honda Accord Sport to Vick's Expertune Automotive after reading the P2820 (line pressure solenoid valve A stuck off) code using my own OBD2 scanner. I clearly told them the issue was with harsh gear shifting, yet they ignored my input and claimed the problem might be with the wheels. I have told them problem was not with the wheels. An hour later, they called saying “the mechanic felt it” and diagnosed it as failed transmission mounts, no actual evidence, just a gut feeling. They quoted me a ridiculous $1,928 to replace transmission mounts (attached invoice proves this). Frustrated, I took my car to the Honda dealer the next day. Turns out, the real issue was a transmission fluid leak, something serious and dangerous that Vick's completely missed. The dealer fixed it properly for only $300. Despite my clear input and the critical nature of the issue, Vick’s failed to diagnose a life-threatening problem and still charged me $171 for bogus diagnostics. It’s unacceptable for any mechanic to operate based on “feelings” rather than facts. This place is unprofessional, careless, and borderline scammy. I wouldn’t trust them with a bicycle, let alone a car. Save your money and go somewhere that actually knows what they’re doing.

What an amazing person! I had a fantastic experience with Vick! From start to finish, he was honest, professional, and polite. Not only did they complete the work within the exact timeframe they promised, but the pricing was also very reasonable. What really stood out to me was his integrity. I had previously been told by another shop that I needed additional suspension work, but Vick took the time to thoroughly inspect everything and let me know it wasn’t necessary. I really appreciate this honesty! (Especially as someone who cannot fake car knowledge to save my life to appear knowing. I am glad I was given things straight) It saved me hundreds of dollars. It’s clear they care more about building trust than upselling services. I’ll absolutely be returning for any future car needs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and reliable auto shop.

These guys do amazing work! It’s one of the few shops in Austin I trust. They did some work on my BMW a few years back and I have sent many friends and family there since and they all say nothing but great things. I highly recommend!

06/07/25 - Tried this shop for the 1st time one week ago. It's not a fancy or modern looking shop, but they do offer the customary coffee and condiments in the waiting room. You DO want to take your vehicle here because 1) Vick greets you personally and tells you what to expect, 2) They work fast and accurately, and 3) Your car will be in great shape.

Dane and Justin, Vicks has always done right by me and my car. A lot of mechanics are shady, and I was lucky to find one who isn’t. Their prices have always been reasonable and fair and they’ve been taking good care of me for the last couple years. I meant to leave this review a long time ago, But I’ve taken my Acura in multiple times and they even serviced my girlfriend’s Jeep. 5/5 Endorsement. I take my car here over a dealership any day of the week.
