🔧 Tune Up - The Manly Salon - Anderson Mill

This review is for the moms out there looking to get their young son’s first hair cut. This is NOT the right place, keep looking! (I told the guy that booked us over the phone that my son was 5 and it was his first haircut.) The man that was going to cut my son’s hair immediately told me what I originally wanted (his long hair sectioned off into a faux hawk style, add some layers and the sides cut down to a fade.) He immediately said it wasn’t going to work because he didn’t think my son would sit still enough for a fade and layers, okay fine, understandable, I agreed to his idea of a “1 on the sides.” But when it came time to separate his hair he only portioned off the top section so I tried to explain to him again about the faux hawk. At this point I could visibly see this man was uncomfortable with my presence. He cut me off, backed away, and told me I was “asking for too much.” I’m sorry but, the hair sectioned off into a faux hawk and 1 on the sides is asking for too much? So you expected me to pay you 26$ (price I was quoted over the phone) plus a tip for a top knot and a buzz cut all around my son’s head? I’m glad he then told me he couldn’t cut my son’s hair because he didn’t want to give me something I wouldn’t be happy with. I was in disbelief with this whole situation, all I could do was smile, tell him it’s okay, grab my son and walk out. Also, he was annoyed that my son stepped on some rotating mechanism that’s attached to the chairs as I helped my son get out of the chair. He never communicated anything about this mechanism or to not step on it so that was just weird hearing him groan about it. Y’all really shouldn’t offer kids hair cuts or at least have an age limit listed online, or SOMETHING, because that was such an unnecessary waste of everyone’s time and an incredibly awkward interaction.

I’ve been a member for 6+ years and for a good reason. Tune up is great, they offer the best services and free drinks to PAYING CUSTOMERS! Chelsea is phenomenal, she fades like no other! 5 stars, would recommend!

CHELSEA THE MANAGER. Denied me the free beer/liqour thats offered as I’ve been many times before.BUT when her male friends walks in he’s met with the most respect and he can get what he wants. So I asked him what’s he getting and he tells nev then he looks at Chelsea and he acts like he isn’t getting anything anymore. Not sure what’s going on with the MANAGEMENT, but their employees actually respect the signs they have out at the front of their establishment. And I’ve been there more than 4 times and NEVER experienced this. ONLY with Chelsea. Be careful when you go.

Lexi was amazing! She was very patient and pleasant. She even trimmed up my hair at no cost because the last person that did it a week ago did not shape it well. She also gave me a pedicure, nose and ear wax. She did a wonderful job. This is truly a great place for men to relax and get their needs taken care of. The prices are very affordable as well. I may even look into the memberships.

Got cut up the other day before the freeze, cut looked great when I was walking out. Didn’t have time to style as I was wearing a beanie all week cause I work outside. I noticed a little long spot on the left, got a hold of these guys they got me in right away. JP she’s amazing, fantastic super friendly. The other gentleman that started the cut, he did not get a chance to help me out. He was busy but props to him as well for the sickest no line fade I’ve ever had!!!! They came trough and saved the day!!! Great customer support.
