Matt and team were an overall excellent experience. My 2018 GMC Sierra was having some transmission issues due to a known GM problem. GMC charged me $250 for a diagnostic that took them 7 days and resulted in a quote of $10k+ for a transmission overhaul with no deadline on the work. Additionally, I was highly unimpressed with their customer service. I had a similar experience with Lamb’s Auto. Then, I reached out to Matt and team at Austin’s Transmission and was very impressed. They answered the phone by the second ring every time, remembered me by name, and saw me immediately. They performed the diagnostic for free within 30 minutes while I waited and gave me a quote of $5200 for the transmission overhaul and said they could have it done in a week. So, I decided to trust in Matt and team. The final price matched the quote and the truck was done within a week. I drove it to Houston and back the very next day and it seemingly drove great and smooth. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the work product and glad I chose them for transmission service. Additionally, Austin Transmission is family owned and local for many years. They are some of the few good guys left.

These guys really are awesome, got my car fixed really fast and did a great job, left the inside of my car the same way it was when I dropped it off, and even had the courtesy to use a floor mat on the driver's side to keep mud out of my car. This shop has been around 40 years!! Next time u have transmission issues come to this piece of Austin Texas history.

I took my truck in. And right away. I feel like I did the right decision. The atmosphere and the personality of the gentlemen, there and all is employees make me feel great. They worked on my truck very fastly and did a great job. A highly recommend.

We had our transmission rebuilt and our water pump replaced here. The work was done with care and on time. Matt had great communication and was very fair. Shops like this, with old school integrity and values, ought to be treasured.
